Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Arts, Commerce & Science

A legacy of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar as a socio-political reformer had a deep effect on modern India.  In post-independence India, his socio-political thoughts are respected across the political spectrum. His initiatives have influenced various spheres of Indian’s life and transformed the way of looking at socio-economic policies, education and affirmative action through socio-economic and legal incentives. Considering this legacy, Hon'ble Rajkumarji Madame established Janata Multi-Purpose Organization at Dhobisarad, Deori in 1996 and started Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Arts, Commerce & Science College, Surtoli/ Lohara. The college is affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur from the academic year 2012-2013.

The college is located at small town, Surtoli/Lohara of Deori taluka, Gondia a district of Maharashtra.  The campus is at hilly, tribal and Naxalite region of India. The broad aim of college to encourage students for higher education and make best citizen by developing morals and respect for everyones. The comprehensive mission of the college is to promote holistic development to the backward sections of the society and to teach humanitarianism, secularism and democratic nationalism from a liberal perspective.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar college staff working promptly as per UGC guidelines, rules and regulations, under the guidance of honorable Principal Dr. T.G. Gedam. Honorable advisor guides us for each and every college activity. Under his special administrative guidance, educational and general awareness programs are being organized successfully through the subject wise departments taught under the faculty. There are 21 professors working and the number of non-teaching staff is 08.
